FOBSE Officers

Loren Bough, President

Loren BoughLoren Bough is President of Friends of Big Sky Education and its founding member.  A private investor, Loren is highly active in the Big Sky community.  He is the Big Sky School Board Chair.  He also serves on the Big Sky Resort Area Board, the Yellowstone Club Community Foundation Board, the Property and Environment Research Center Board (PERC), and the Big Sky Institute National Board.  Bough worked as a trader in New York and London, was a partner at Brunswick UBS Russian, headed trading and risk management for a Russian investment banking business.  He is a founding supporter of United Way Russia, Downside Up, and Maria’s Children in Moscow.  Loren and his wife Jill have three children who attend school in the Big Sky School District.




Anne Marie Mistretta, Vice President and Secretary

Anne Marie MistrettaAnne Marie Mistretta is the FOBSE Secretary.  After 39 years in education in Connecticut and then Montana, she retired in July 2010 from the Ophir School District (now the Big Sky School District), where she was the Superintendent/Principal.  As an administrator of 25 years, Mistretta built school facilities and programs to improve students’ academic and social achievement.  She was instrumental in expanding the Ophir District to include Lone Peak High School and doubled the footprint of the school facility while the student population doubled.  She serves on several non-profit boards in Big Sky and the greater Gallatin Valley. She was on the citizen editorial board of the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. Anne Marie and husband Jerry live in Big Sky, raised four children, and have six grandchildren.



David Gasser, Treasurer

David Gasser is the Treasurer of FOBSE. He grew up in Northwest Indiana and attended Portage High School. He graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Business and received a MBA from the University of Colorado. He worked in a family owned bank for 20 years where he was involved in the commercial lending and investment areas of the bank. David left the bank in the early 1990's after it was sold. Since then he has managed his personal investments and been involved in real estate projects including building his personal residence in Big Sky. His hobbies include skiing, fishing, traveling, and listening to music. He has attempted to play the piano, clarinet, drums, and guitar at various times during his life.
